New KM Line Launched

Canadian Jewellery Designer Launches New Line
April 22, 2013, Ottawa – Acclaimed Ottawa jewellery designer, Karen McClintock is already a celebrated local success story and – after last year’s achievements – one of Canada’s most recognized artists. The past year has been studded with new celebrity fans, a trip to the Oscars and the Toronto International Film Festival, a U.S. launch and, most recently, designing custom pieces for Michelle Obama, First Lady of the United States. This spring, McClintock is changing her creative course with the launch of KM, a versatile new wardrobing jewellery collection, on May 6, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Shepherd’s Trainyards.
Always pushing her creative boundaries, McClintock’s new KM line is a fun, affordable extension of her highly-praised, luxury line of statement pieces with every piece priced under $200 dollars. While KM will still feature McClintock’s signature use of semi-precious stones, it will also include drops of Czech glass and vibrant colour groupings designed to be layered, and worn together with interchangeable essentials. The line will also feature a unique, multi-tasking convertible necklace that can be worn over 10 different ways.
“Spring is a wonderful time for creativity and a fresh approach,” says Karen McClintock. “KM is just that, an opportunity to take my designs into a new area of fashion. My vision for Karen McClintock jewellery has always been to create pieces that make a statement. KM pieces are complimentary rather than showpieces. They are versatile, colourful and affordable – and the final touch – to a perfect outfit.”
McClintock has also partnered with Dress for Success Ottawa for the KM launch, a not-for-profit organization providing resources, career support and attire for disadvantaged women entering the workforce. Guests are invited to enjoy cocktails, a fashion show and donate their gently-loved jewellery in support of the Dress for Success initiative.
